I have a 1998 Lund 1650 Angler SS 50th anniversary edition with 2001 Merc 50ELPT in pristine condition. My dealer noticed a transom play and the motor mounting bolts kept coming loose.

He removed the transom cap trim piece and found my transom was rotted. With no visible signs of water leaking in anywhere.

There was absolutly no type of sealer used to seal any joints or screws in the transom. It appears that the water runs down the gunwale and on top of the transom that is untreated laminated plywood.

This boat has a custom cover and is stored inside heated garage when not in use. It is very disappointing to see this happen when you supposedly buy yhe best product name out there. This boat has less than 50 running hours on it.

Not what I expected from the #1 aluminum boat company. I called 25 times since May last year and they told me that I will get 12$ wooden plank from them.
