Bought a "clean" boat — sunk — had a rotten transom — loss out money!

Bought a bought from Ahlstrand that had "nothing wrong" with it. The boat sunk right away because the transom was rotted! Took boat back and wanted full refund but owner Vern said you are lucky to be getting any refund. So, had to take a several hundred dollar loss because we didn't want the boat back because it was worth nothing with a rotten transom!!! Didn't want to fight it through the court system so we were stuck with taking whatever he would give us! Terrible dealership — liars!!! Will never buy from them again! They knew the transom was rotted — that is one of the first things a boat dealer looks at when they take in a trade from a customer. The funny thing is, we intentionally bought our boat from a dealer and paid more rather than buy one from a private owner because we did not want to get ripped off... But we did get ripped off at Ahlstrand in Mundelein. It is a lucky thing for us that it sunk right away or we would have been stuck with a huge bill and no boat!!! Good luck if you purchase any thing from them because the owner Vern is not an honest or fair man!!! I wish I would have known this prior to buying because I would not have bought a used boat from them! They had the boat listed on Ebay saying how great it was too prior to buying it! Wish we would have bidded on Ebay for it because then we would have been covered 100%. It was a nightmare for us because we spent all our money on this boat and we were in the hands of Vern to do whatever he wanted and he made that clear! He ripped us off!!! Not a nice guy to the little people!!! We had registered the boat and bought several things for it. He said he has to lose out on the sticker or registration — well you shouldn't sell a piece of garbage to the little folk! Bad experience!!!
