Miscellaneous

This company does has not given me one inclination that they care in the least bit about a satisfied customer. I am pasting the series of emails back and forth between myself and Standard Screen Printing after I received 150 shirts that looked terrible when compared with the proof that was sent to me before printing. Not mentioned in these emails is the phone call in which the owner of the company hung up on me when I tried to explain to him cordially why I was unhappy with the shirts that were sent. I did not send payment for the shirts, but since I sent an emailed copy of a check (since the company does not accept credit cards) they extracted funds from bank account without my consent. I had sent the copy of the check on good faith that the product would look like the proof they had sent and I would be sending payment after the product was shipped. I shipped the shirts back because they were unusable for my event and Standard Screen Printing has taken money out of my account (now I don't have the shirts and the company has taken my money). I highly recommend not using this shady company — They could rub a shirt around in the mud, ship it to you and tell you it is fine, and then take your money without caring one iota about what is fair to you as the customer. I am trying not to let my anger show through, but I highly recommend not using this company and I do not think they should be allowed to stay in business (judging from my interactions). Here is the series of emails from after the shirts were shipped:
ME: Date: Thursday, January 21, 1:36 PM Hi, I had called this morning about the T-shirt order that came in yesterday, and I haven't heard back. The shirts don't look like the proof that was sent, as there are white splotches and the colors are different and darker. I was wondering if you had any policies for what I can do with a product I am not happy with. Thank you
STANDARD SCREEN PRINTING: Hello, We received your email. And reviewing the art and the print we think it is pretty close. The trouble with that artwork is that it's a drawing not an actual clipart, So what we had to do is put it in a program to have it seperated when it did that we got it as close as we could. Good luck with your event I think it will be a big hit. People her at the shop had some printed for their children. Thanks, Standardscreen Printing
ME: Thursday, January 21, 3:52 PM I understand that it could be difficult to separate the colors, but it would be nice to know that before the shirts were printed or to be given options. If I had known that this is what the shirts would have looked like I would have changed the design to use less colors (maybe one or two), because it really looks much worse than the proof I was sent. I will not be using your company again or recommending you to others, but I would recommend that you communicate more with your future customers.
STANDARD SCREEN PRINTING: Start asking a few questions ahead of time instead of after the fact. Why is it the small order that are the biggest headaches? We do close to 2500 events a year with less than 10 complaints pretty good communication. I would say that you don't have that success rate as a teacher. Start communicating more maybe. We will be glad to help ypu work on that.
ME: Re: ROAD-odend Run Tees To: "Customer Service" Date: Friday, January 22, 9:56 AM Your response was rather unprofessional. I have ordered through other companies who communicated to me that they would not be able to accomplish what I wanted in the design. All I am suggesting is that you might let the customer know that their design will not work so that it can be manipulated to look like what they are expecting. For payment, will you be sending an invoice later, because I have not received anything yet. Thank you,
STANDARD SCREEN PRINTING: here is the invoice.
ME: Date: Friday, January 22, 5:09 PM I am ccing the artist of the drawing on the ROAD-odend-RUN shirts. She has worked at a screen printing facility, and she has instructed me that it is a reasonable course of action to send the shirts back without paying for them. She is very disappointed with the printing, and she can speak more technically with you about the screen printing process if you would like. So, unless I hear otherwise I will ship all the shirts back.
STANDARD SCREEN PRINTING: We will not accept any return of the shirts or refund. They meet the screen printing industry standard. Any course of non payment will be met with clinton county small claims court filed after 15 days of not receiving payment. Standard Screenprinting will not have second thought of taking you to court. We take non payment very seriously and have went to court 2 other times with success. Your shirts are acceptable and you have no merit for a refund.
