Scam rip off

I went in to have a front end allignment done and was told i needed all 4 ball joints on my truck replaced which they said would cost almost $600.00, i told them not to do it. I brought the truck home, jacked it up and could not find any play in my ball joints. The next i took my truck to a reputable repair shop down the road and was told my ball joints were fine, i then took it to another repair facility and was told the same. DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP! A majority of people just say fix it... So it makes me wonder how many people have been ripped off by them.
