Super 8 Motel with Wydham
Wydham Oct. 22 made reservation for Nov 15 and cannot cancel it same day resevation was made w Credit Card

Planning trip and made reservation with Super8 San Antonio Oct. 22 for Nov 15 with my credit card. Same day realized I would have to reserve for Super8 in VanHorn instead. Went to make the new reservation but realized I could not cancel the first one. Call Super 8 and they said since reservation was made on their special "advance pay" plan thru Wydham I could not cancel it. The Wyndham confirmation was sent by a "no reply" email, so I could not contact them. The clerk said if I entered www.super8.com I could make my reservations directly instead of thru Wydham, but that was not true. That url goes directly to Wydham. Now these people know that if a person makes a reservation more than a month in advance, it is very possible they will have a change of plans and the motel room will not be used. I called Customer Service at Super8 siince I could not get a number anywhere for Wydham. The Customer Service person there at Super8 said "under no circumstances" can they cancel the reservation. When I argued the point I had just made that reservation she hung up in my face! I found a "contact us" number on the site for Wydham which gave you a form to fill out, which I filled, and got a no-reply email from them saying they would reply in 4 or 5 days. I feel ripped off by Super8 and will never use them again. Will not reserve with them. Will now file complaint with my credit card company. Beware. Do not reserve with super8 motels.
