Denies It Is In Travel Reservation Business

Here it is nearly a year later and TravelNow.com is still screwing up vacations and blaming the customer for using their service. It's more of a disservice. We made a confirmed reservation for a motel room. When we arrived there was no reservation in our name; the TravelNow.com agent had put the reservation in some other name. We had specifically requested and had a written confirmation for a ground floor non-smoking king sized bed. The motel desk clerk was very friendly and let us see what TravelNow.com had actually sent the motel. Although the hotel had such rooms available none were reserved by TravelNow.com for us. None were reserved in the other name either. We made other arrangements with the motel for a non-smoking room on an upper level at a higher price. When TravelNow.com was contacted they (1) did not reply; then they offered us "bonus bucks" for the next time we used TravelNow.com for our travels; then they (2) said it was the motel's fault; (3) then said it was our fault; (4) then said that they are not in the motel reservation business. We think the truth is that they are not in the motel reservation business and that they are irresponsible. Why TravelNow.com interjects itself into our travel plans when it doesn't have any service or product to offer is a mystery. TravelNow.com must have some weird business model. Gee, I wonder if this profiling has anything to do with its public stock offering? We will not be using their service again, ever, for anything, and we are encouraging you to dial direct to your motel or hotel and make your own reservations.
