Here's my problem my electric was shut off 7/23 I didn't recieve a notice and no one came up to let me know they were shutting it off or I would have given them a check to pay it to prevent it from being shut off. Only way I found out it was shut off for payment is because I called. Now here's the problem I'm a personal trainer so I don't get paid weekly like most people so I don't have a steady income. So I did fall behind in my payments but I did pay. I went into the to pay because it was shut off and explained to the lady I didn't get a notice in the mail before my electric was shut off and she goes on to say that I need to talk to my post office. I told her I had that problem before and spoke to the post office and they said if they received it they would have put it in my mailbox. The lady says well it was sent out so now I have to pay the reconnect fee. Now I was a little disturbed because of course no one wants to take responsibility that maybe someone didn't send it out. And assumed I got it and didn't pay it. I told the lady well the post office didn't give it to me because they didn't get it. She says to me well if you would have paid your bills then you wouldn't have gotten it shut off. So I told her there was no need to be sarcastic. Needless to say I was very very upset and I paid my bill and left. I didn't know it was ok for someone who deals with the public to talk them in a demeaning way. So I called the office when I got home and asked to speak to a supervisor about what happened. I spoke to a women named Othelle I believe who was very very nice and apologized about what happened and told me she would take care of it... Next thing you know I get another call from a guy who said he was the administrator asking me what the problem was. I explained to him I already spoke to someone about what happened... Next thing you know this guy starts getting rude with me saying he doesn't take kindly to people who make accusations about his employees and that the women behind me said I was being loud with his employee. SO I told him no I wasn't it was when his employee said what she said when I said there was no need to be sarcastic and that the women who was behind me didn't come in until after the women behind the desk said what she said and heard my response. He proceeds to be rude with me on the phone what do u do wait til you get a letter in the mail before you pay your bill you knew you owed money on your bill why didn't you pay it... If you don't pay your cell phone bill for 3 month they shut you off don't they... This is what this man says to me on the phone... Now mind you my complaint wasn't because of my bill I know I had to pay it ok but I didn't have the money at the time to pay it... instead of him calling me to address the fact that his employee was rude just like he was... He decides to call me and be rude to me on the phone about my bill..instead of this guy being understanding to the fact that maybe I was going through some rough economic times he was basically sticking up for his employee's attitude towards a customer. I didn't know it was acceptable for a business to treat people this way no matter what their situation is. I would hope they are never in a situation where they had a hard time paying their bills.
