I was sent a letter stating that i owed 528.00 from a credit card company

Your original creditor: imagine mastercard... Dear michael... We are bringing to your attention the fact that the above referenced account has a outstanding balance of 528.00.. At this time we hereby offer you an opportunity to negotiate a reasonable settlement for less than the oustanding balance payment plans will also be considered in connection with our offer. I called them told them i would settle for over 200 less than the balance they had listed they 1st said ok, then someone talked to someone who said no had a pay all at once. I then started asking questions are you liscened in my state of alabama, the supervisor i talked to said hold on. When she finally came back to the phone she advised i see a bunch of license on the wall with numbers but did not see one for alabama, they also said that they practice in every state except 2 could not tell which 2... All this was on june 8th, on june 9th i called the federal trade commission who advised that this company has had alot of complaints against them, when i called jefferson capital systems llc back, i was put on hold for 10min, one manager said that they do not have to hold a license for the state of alabama this subject got mad when i told them there were complaints from the ftc on them, phone line was hung up
