Rodrigo Barros, Tania Fonseca Rodrigo ripoff, sold a shell, not a car!

The aformentioned parties neglected to inform me upon, neither the date of the test drive, or purchase of a 96 Honda Civic Dx, that the car is in need of major repairs in order to be road-worthy. The defects include, but are not limited to, an improper sized radiator held by tie-backs, motor engine and entire front end are incorrectly installed and replaced, and the horn is defective. Furthermore, the car has no cooling or heating system in place.

I directly inquired about the condition of the air-condition prior to the purchase, and Mr. Barros assured me that it was working fine. This is most definately not the case because both the compressor and conducer are missing. The car does not even contain the two fans necessary to keep the engine from over-heating.

The lock on the driver's door is also unable to be locked. The window on the same door, once wound down cannot go back up.

Upon discovering the car's many flaws, I contacted Mr. Barros. He denied knowledge of the problems with the radiator and fans, promising to put in an order for new ones, of which would be delivered to me the following day (08/23/06). As of today's date (09/11/06), Mr. Barros has not completed the agreement. Mr. Barros also stated that there was no problem with the window. According to his mother, the door was defective because she had broke the key inside.

My father removed the door panel to confirm what Mr. Barros said. He came to the conclusion that the car was in an accident and the entire door may have been changed.incorrectly done, the cylinder no longer fit, causing the doors inability to close and the window to come off it's tracking, making it unable to close.

In short, Mr. Barros has sold me a shell of a car, taking advantage of my volnurability and lack of car-knowledge. He has lied to my face and continued to give me the run-around, one day stating that he and his mother were in California and the very next that he was in West Palm Beach, Fl. And his mother in Brazil. His story has changed many times, but his refusal to return my $3,000 (payed via Bank Atlantic cashiers check #928350733 on 08/17/06 to Rodrigo Barros, cashed 08/21/06 at washington Mutual Bank).
