Moviemars Vendor/warehouse for Amazon.com

On April 27 I ordered a CD on Amazon.com, the vendor being moviemars.com. At the time I placed the order I was not aware of the numerous problems and complaints documented on the internet against the company. When I placed my order I received a confirmation that included a delivery date range of May 4-May 19. As the time frame progressed and there was no sign of my delivery, I checked the internet for a direct website for MovieMars and discovered and endless stream of complaints from consumers who'd had bad experiences with this company. I've had multiple email exchanges with this concern and had to ask TWICE for specific shipping detail information before I was provided with a shipping manifest.

What I discovered was that my order, which was projected to be delivered as early as May 4th (but no later than May 19th) didn't even leave the MovieMars warehouse until MAY 11TH. It was shipped via a servcie called 'UPS Mail Innovations', a program that is supposedly faster than standard first class mail. According to the manifest, my package the the MovieMars facility via UPS on 5/11 and was then transferred to the US Postal Service facility in my home city on 5/14 for final delivery. The post office didn't get my package delivered until 5/22 so I am more than a little bit curious as to where it's been sitting for the past 8 days.

Adding insult to injury, when I opened the package is discovered that they had sent the wrong item! In one of my exchanges with MovieMars I urged them to (1) refund my purchase price and (2) extend me a $10 courtesy credit. Their response was to offer me a $3 credit toward a future purchase with them and advise me that if my shipment was not received by June 1st to contact them for reshipment.

The complaints I've seen online range from late and damanged shipments all the way up to and including shipments that were never received and no refund issued by MovieMars. This is, in my opinion, a highly disreputable company and I would discourage any prospect customers to find an alternate source for whatever it is you are looking for. Personally, I will never do business with them again and will urge everyone I know to avoid this company.

Based on everything I've read and the experience I've already had these past several days in communications with them, I'm simply going to eat my loss — I can't stomach the idea of returning the merchandise for an exchange or refund that I would most likely never see. I don't blame Amazon as they have no control over their vendors; they should, however, examine the number of complaints lodged against MovieMars and reconsider allowing them to do business on their site.
