Ruby from Gems TV, Guide price £50,000 paid £5,000 independent valuation worth £400!

My late wife, Denise was a great fan of Gems TV and brought over 250 items of jewellery spending over £40,000 and because of her belief in the company and its gemstones I purchased a 18 carrot Madagascan Ruby described as an original, rare stone with a guide price of over £50,000. I bought it for £5,000. And I kept it along with all of Denise's jewellery.
Sadly my wife passed away on May 13th. Last March, for the first time, I felt able to open her beloved jewellery box. The first item was the ruby and I sent it away to be appraised.
I was shocked to find the Ruby with a guide price of over £50,000 was worth £400 and it was described by the appraiser as 'Glass filled'.
Despite many registered letters and 3 different appraisals (as Gems TV refused to accept the independent one and insisted I take it to Samuels to have it valued their) they have acted in a very poor fashion. I have asked for their help and advice to resolve the problem but they couldn't have been ruder, culminating in a women called Lauren from Gems TV phone the down on me because she wouldn't answer my questions.
I am now left with worthless piece of jewellery I believed to be worth at least £50,000. I have further forked out monies for valuations and registered post.
I am currently working out my next cause of action and would appreciate any help.
