These indivual sent me a letter saying that I was a second place winner in the Publisher clearance House sweepstake. They also sent me a check which was fraud

I recieved a letter from susposely from the PCH, saying that I was second place winner of the 7,000, 000 grand prize draw. The prize won was 1,000, 000 US dollar.
Enclosed was a check for fivethousand & nine hundred & thirty-five dollars which I was not to deposit until I contact my representative, Mr. John Akers.
When I contacted Mr. Akers he asked for a security code which was in the letter. He told me he needed to enter it into the computer and put me on hold. A few minute laters he hung up on me. So I tried to call back and was told that he was busy with other customers. I haven't been able to talk to him since.
The letter also stated that the Internal Revenue agent handling my file was Mr. Henry Cohen. The letter was also sign by Christopher Porter (Chief financial Officer).
