Refund Check Could Not Be Cashed After Install Failed

My husband and I called Directv to install the service in November 06. We could not get the installation because of the kind of apartment we were living in, so we called and asked for our money. They then sent us a check for unused service, but to our surprise the check could not be cashed. When I went to the check cashing place, they said it was overdue.

We have been trying to reach them about this matter, but there has been no response or help with this situation.
