Sold me a defective unit that burnt up my ipod at my expense

I had bought an interface unit to hook up my ipod in my vehicle on my factory radio and all went well then the next day i went out to my truck to make settings ajustments to this new unit and the speakers on 1 side had stoped working so i wiggled the plug going into my ipod and they started to work for maybe 4 to 5 seconds and then the ipod display went blank, and then i took my ipod out and tried to reset it and nothing and it had the smell of burnt electrics. I called and got the installer on the phone and told him and he said sounds for sure like a bad interface unit.

The next day i got in touch with the service manager and he said no problem they would be goald to replace the interface for me free of charge, i asked about my worthless ipod he said sorry thats not there problem per best buy policy. He said i can get a hold of the company that made the unit and i did they wanted to getr this unit back from me with my ipod to find out if this was a manufacturing problem but i had no promise of an outcome to help me, so i had to choose the route of less expense which was today i had them take the bad unit out and give me a refund, and then they weren't going to give me back the install fee, but they finally did, so i guess i was lucky to get out of there only loosing the $160.00 for the price to repalce my ipod. I think this policy of best buy stinks.

So beware of buying anything that can damage something you own, it will be your problem if it does. I could have walked 30 steps to buy my new ipod but will never buy from them again instead took my refund to target to get my new ipod that a few days ago i didn't need untill bestbuy..
