Bought snowcoming dress for $168 w/alterations $225. Dress fell apart at dance

Marilyn Warren, MI I bought my daughter a dance for Warren Mott HS Snowcoming. It was $168, after alterations $235. I took dress back before dance because dress was tight and beading falling off. Seamstress told me that my daughter probably was on her period and the dress got tight. Not so. She starved for 3 days to fit in the dress. The seamstress did sew on the beads I took in that fell off and glued the string inside the dress. On the night of the dance, the beading was falling off in many different areas. My daughter was so upset and embarrassed that she left the dance early.
I took the dress back to David's Sunday morning (the day after the dance) The manager, Jenna, was very cold and said that I will not get a refund. I asked for the dress to be fixed and to get something off the purchase price. She stated that she was not paid to make that decision, again very cold to the situation, but she kept the dress and said it would be repaired and that she would speak to someone regarding the problem and the possibility of getting something off the dress. David's was much nicer when they took my money.

Teens only wear dresses once and it is a shame that the dress fell apart on the night of the dance and it will get repaired so I can take it to a resale shop. I don't spend this kind of money all the time. My daughter has been going through some tuff times and I thought I would treat her to a special dress. I really couldn't afford this dress, but it was beautiful on her and I wanted her to be happy.

Not only did she have to starve to fit into the dress (she is only 14) after David's did the alterations, but the dress fell apart at the dance.
