I purchased the HP Pavillion Elite m9400t PC. About a week after set up it started to make a cranking/sizzling noise. First during start-up, then most of the day. Contacted HP via phone. After an hour and a half and the same torturous song over and over again, I hung up. Contacted HP via chat line. After 4 hours I had gotten nowhere. They wanted me to open the computer and find out where the noise was coming from. This was not going anywhere. They talked me into buying an extended warranty. This supposedly was going to bring a technician out. I then found out that I still had to self diagnose and then the tech would come and install the part. The next day I then called. Since I now had a warranty, they at least were willing to talk to me. Again no results. We left off that I should send the computer back for repairs. Since the hard drive was fully loaded, I did not want to do that. I canceled my extended warranty and will have the Geek Squad come and look at it. I will never deal with HP again. I should have known better since Consumer Reports rated their service as not good.
