Bank Of America
Unjust NSF Fees

Miscellaneous

I am a 60 year old senior citizen with a limited income and recently I was laid off from my job, I expected my last payroll check from the company. The money was deposited to my Bank of America acount which I've had 20 years was only half. I went on line and followed my account daily and all my checks cleared with $426.00 balance left with two checks outstanding and with only half the amount deposite I new before I could get more money into the account I'd probably have to endure two NSF fees and they would pay the checks, this did happen the checks came through my account the next day.
But they charged me $35.00 for six checks I called the 800 number and the Bank of America agent said the bank polled the public and their survey said the public wants them to pay the highest checks coming through because it could be the mortgage payment or some other bill that is important and this means that your largest check would be paid and overdraft all of your checks.

Now having an account for such a long period of time and not often having an overdraft they would normanlly pay the check and charge you a fee this had happened in the past a few times over the years. This is utterly unjust and a terrible way to treat your customers.instead of $70.00 for two check which came through after all the other outstanding checks were paid with a $426.00 balance left and the next day two checks came through and they paid and charged a fee of $35.00 each and decided to charge for the checks that were submitted and paid with a balance left the day before. I asked to speak to a supervisor and the agent said it wouldn't help because that is thier policy. So I was charged $210.00 instead of $70.00 and I'm certian this happens daily and I'm very upset, they should be trying to help their customers not rip them off.
