Check cashing scam!

The company I work for recently changed their payroll account from Eagle bank in Montgomery County, Maryland to Bank of America also in Montgomery County, Maryland. Bank of America profited quite handsomely from this new influx of money entering their bank.

The payroll checks are issued to the employees and are drawn on the bank of America. Bank of America continues to charge our employees a $5.00 fee for cashing these checks drawn on Bank of America if employee does not have an account there. I have argued this practice many times with the manager of the Germantown branch in Maryland every two weeks when I go in to the Bank of America branch, yet he still asks me to open an account there. I have told him the reason I do not open an account there is because they charge this fee. If I do open an account there I would be required to maintain a $25.00 balance to keep the account open, therefore entitling them to use my $25.00 on a continuing basis with very little return if any of my own funds.

To add insult to this ridiculous fee on payroll checks drawn on the Bank of America, the manager asked me to produce not 1, not 2 not 3 but 4 government I. D's and a thumbprint on the check before he would cash the payroll check! The only reason I do not go to my own bank to cash my check is because my bank has a policy of putting payroll checks on 10 day hold (another ridiculous policy but not a scam) Bank of America is obviously scamming customers out of $5.00 per check in an effort to make extra money from checks drawn on their own banks name. When will someone stop bank of America from cheating the U.S. Consumer? Isn't this the same bank that has been providing credit card accounts to illegal aliens in our country? Please advise if there is something I can do to either get my funds back or to help me stop them from ripping off American consumers, Thank You!
