Rip-Off!

This National Readers Service is one hell of a parasite. Several years ago, Stupidly i agreed to recieve some magazines through readers service. They told me that i would be charged monthly and could cancel anytime.

So i was getting magazines and finally finished my terms of service, gladly by this point. About a year went by and i hadn't been being charged. Then one day out of the blue, i recieved a phone call from National readers service claiming that i had only finished HALF of my agreement.

I told them basically that they were full of crap, and they said infact i owed them over $1700!!! And that i was under their contract for the next 30 months! So they started billing me $39.90 a month on 2 seperate charges.

The next i had them on the phone they said i had purchaced a whole seperate account! What a load of crap. I tried to cancel, but they wouldn't allow it, stating i was under a binding contract, and that i would be reported to to the credit bureau if i refused to pay.

Now, I HAVE read all the other consumer complaintss on this sham of a company (if you can call it that). Every story is almost exactly the same as mine. They call over and over and always say the exact same thing offering you a discount. Whats even odder is, that everytime, the represenative you talk to is somehow new at the company, and he or she will transfer you to their "supervisor" you know, just to be sure they were polite... Again what a load of crap!!!

The supervisor gets you on the phone and strings together a bucketfull of questions that you cant understand, and that are designed to trick you...

I want these frikkin people off my back! Are they a legit company? Can they ruin my credit? Why arent these damn crooks in a prison somewhere by now???

Please someone let me know anything on how to get rid of them for good!!!
