Payment to Entergy

On 12/29/08 I wrote a check to pay on light bill for $181.43 and my check was returned due to insufficient funds in my account. I called to make arrangements to pay this amount (I am paid once a month) and was told that I would have to make a full payment of $361.94 by today. I tried to explain that I do have the $181.43 at this time to clear this amount. I was told that my lights will be turned off tomorrow. I already had an extension on the $180.41 for 1/20/09 but was told since the $181.43 was returned I will have to make the full payment. This is wrong to do the American people this way...
