Cracked Windsheild

I took my car in for an oil change. I got service done on my car. When I picked up the car, the windsheild was cracked on the right side in the area where you would genereally place a city sticker. When I said something I was told to come back the next day. Which would be the 16 of Dec. I did and spoke with the service manager. He looked at this crack and said well it looks like this may have been some kind of a small stone that may have impacted the window and caused this to expand. Then he says no way you or any one could have seen this. I look at him and said the car was here no cracks were in my windsheild. He started to say that do to weather fluctuation it would have happend. Then he says I can get a replacement but i have to pay for it. The cost is 880 for a original part. Then he says I am going to try and help you. I said ok. He says how about I get you after market part when no charge on labor and you pay my cost. He says its about 550. My whole point is this happend in his shop and when they had the car. It may have been anything like a tool or something that impacted the windsheild. They should repair this and pay for it.
