Bait & Switch

I received a pre-approved offer in the mail guaranteeing a 7.9% interest on balance transfers with a ten thousand dollar credit limit no fee card. I applied on-line and was denied the offer but a window popped up with a fee based card with a 500 dollar limit. I clicked the x in the corner of the screen because there wasn't a button to not accept.

I received a bill this week for a 400 dollar transfer from my Lowe's account @ 41.5 percent interest including 12 dollar balance transfer (xfers were free in the original offer) and 1.99 finance charge.

I called the company and explained I reject the offer and did not accept. They told me I had to call Lowe's to get the transfer reversed and the all charges will be credited.

I closed the account immediately upon discovering the charge. I am not sure how this will turn out but I am sure the first part was definitely bait and switch with no option to decline.
