Ecyling ripoff

On a previous visit, I used an Officemax coupon to but some ink. I brought 3 used cartridges and asked if they still gave credit for recycling. I was told they di but I had to join their rewards card which I gladly did. After reading the info, I discovered they changed the credit from $3 to only $1. I lost $6 by giving them my cartridges because I can get $3 at Staples. So I went back and calmly explained my problem. All they really had to do was reverse my credits and give me 3 cartridges I could recycle elsewhere. They said they couldn't do anything. The assistant manager did not even know that they reduced the credit!
