Grant Research Guide
Beware. Fraudulent. They stole $61.65 from my visa checking!

I understood that I was paying only $2.95 for shipping and handling to receive one CD about USA grant-searches (using my Visa card). A few days later, this company also debited my Visa card with an additional $51.86! I was not informed nor aware that this would happen! Also another $0.09 was debited to my Visa from this company. My Bank emailed me an immediate alert message regarding the $51.86 debit on 10-24-08 wherein I immediately called the Grant Research 866# to inquire about the charge. I called three times in one hour and only received a recording with an option "to cancel by clicking on 3 on my keypad" I did this and then received a "Ticket Number 08102508-40-12" for my cancellation request. On my second call, I received a "Ticket Number 0810250854-12". When I called today, 10-27-08 to follow-up, I did reach a live person, but they would not honor my cancellation request, even though I stressed that I was Completely Unaware that they would charge me more than the $2.95 as advertised on their site! They stated I did not cancel within the "7-Day Trial Period". However, my Order Date was 10-17-08 and my Cancellation Date was 10-24-08! In my opinion, this is clearly within the "7-Days..." On 10-24-08 when I contacted my Bank, I filed a Dispute. Also today, I emailed the Grant Research several times, corresponding with three (3) different employees to request my Refund... 2 of the 3 employees responded back via email simply by "copying their Terms and Conditions" page which outlines the 7-day trial period. This company is not willing to be reasonable and they refuse to honor my refund request. On further research of their website, they also list addresses in London (Great Britain and also the West Indies!). Conclusion: This is definitely a Rip-Off Company.
