Had someone pose as a Jasper County officer to threaten a warrant!

These shady "lawyers" ripped my mother off for $3,000 today. They had sent a letter about my sister owing money for a motorcycle from several years ago, and then proceeded to use profanity on the phone to her when my sister called them about it. That was about a month ago.

Today, my mother got a call from Walter Moore, an attorney with Trauner, Cohen, & Thomas. He informed her that if arrangements were not made TODAY to pay the debt, my sister would be arrested tonight on a warrant they supposedly took out for her in Jasper County. He told her that if she didn't pay $3,000 before the day was over, they would take my sister's vehicles and garnish her wages, and that, along with bailing out my sister, and fees for a lawyer that she would have to get to go to court, it would end up costing thousands more if she didn't pay this now. He even went as far as to supposedly call Jasper County on 3-way and act like he was asking them to "hold off" on the warrant. I called awhile later when I found out what was going on, and there was never a warrant even issued!

My parents recently got an inheritance from my aunt that passed away, or else they wouldn't have even had the money to cover this transaction. Unfortunately, this man scared my mother into calling her bank on 3-way and paying the $3,000 before myself or anyone else could do anything about it, and my mother didn't know any better. Now they are supposedly sending her the title to the motorcycle, but she has nothing in writing to prove that they are accepting today's payment as payoff, and we don't know what will happen next.

My hope is that these people will get enough complaints on them that there will end up being a class action lawsuit filed against them, and we will gladly be there to testify against them!
