I contacted Direct TV today, after looking online and wanted to ask a question about what packages were available and make sure I understood how it worked. I spoke with a man named Shaun (Shawn?). He told me about a package that I was not interested in. I told him that I was not interested in the package he was describing because it had all sorts of sports channels and I just wanted a package with movies etc.

He verbally cut me off and became rude and told me that he was just answering my question. I explained that I was not interested in what he described and asked him to tell me about a package that suited my needs. He again was rude and told me that he was just doing his job answering my question... Which he was not doing. I told him there was no reason to be rude and that I would think that if Direct TV wanted my money each month that he would be more pleasant and answer my questions without being rude and giving me a hard time. He then hung up on me.

I decided to call back and speak to someone else, and guess who answered? Shaun (Shawn?) answered and I asked to speak to a supervisor. Well, all he did was connect me to the voice response unit... Not to a person. So, I called back and told the next service person that I wished to speak with a supervisor and was put on hold for about 5 to 10 minutes and finally he came back and said he was transferring my call.

I then was disconnected. There is no way to contact the CEO of Direct TV but I tried sending an email to let him know of this. The email form does not work... Unless you are already a paying customer it will not submit... As you must have an account number. So I googled them and saw this website and all sorts of links to complaints and references to legal action against them.

All I can say is THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to the rude SOB on the phone today. I would have probably signed up for one of their rip-off contracts and they would have owned me the rest of my life. But because of the lousy customer service, I investigated them on the web and I am so glad I did. This is not a company that I think I want to do business with.

It appears they are underhanded and do shady business practices and rip people off. So THANK YOU again to the rude SOB... You probably saved me money and heartache!!! You don't know the favor you did me today... And neither do your superiors. Why is this company not under investigation? How can they get away with what they do?
