Fake Potential Identity Theft, Praying on People With Slow Credit. A Lesson Learned

Miscellaneous

Basically, I applied for a loan via a website for "bad" or "low credit" loans. One of those "apply to one and a lender will contact you" kind of sites. I got a call that i was approved and told the funds would be wired to my account by midnight last night AFTER sending in a pre-payment of $817 (4 months of pre-payment). She stated I had to do so because after a review of my credit, it was the only way the lender/bank would go through with it for the rate quoated (8.5%). The next morning I get a call from an agent (not the one I was dealing with) to confirm my loan, with totally the wrong information. I then call my actual agent, a little suspicious, and she explains that other agent was mistaken and everything with my loan was fine - i should have the funds by noon.

Noon comes and goes. I get a call from "their supervisor" claiming those two agents are under disciplinary action for basically trying to scam my loan to boost their commission. She claims she is "so very sorry" and even fakes emotion (as if she is tearing up) that this happened, and apologizes for having to ask me to send more money. She then asks me to send more money ($600) with a guarantee that the hold would be released and I would receive funds in 2 hours. 2 hours later, no money and I can't reach her by phone.

Worse off, checks I wrote counting on these funds are bouncing left and right, I have to struggle to make payments to my creditors, and bills now are going to be far behind because I am $1400 short of counted on money in my account (current balance $1.27).

The "agent' that contacted me and worked the loan was Nicole Bailey on Monday. Some guy named Patrick called me Friday morning with totally different information. The supposed supervisor is Patricia Samuels, she's the one that called me Friday afternoon claiming Nicole got it wrong and to send more money.

I have filed a report with the local police, whom said they've notice in the past 3 weeks an increase in this crime, called "Theft by Trickery or Deceit". I can't say if its the same company, but it is on the rise. I also reported it to the FBI and FTC. Anyone who's fallen victim should do the same. I just hope this prevents anyone else from going through this.
