Unauthorized bank withdrawals took $200.00 and another $159.00 from my account

EDP - Homeland Card uses a cash advance offer but what you are actually signing up for is a prepaid debit card. This cash advance offer is not like most that one sees. It is so sneakily done, you do not know until the money disappears from your account. When you call them and tell them to cancel the card (which by the way you never get), they refuse to give you your money back and say that you authorized the opening of the card. You did authorize it, but you are not aware of it. As I said to Jose who answere the phone - if I needed to borrow cash, why would I authorize a withdrawal when I did not have it in the first place - I needed to borrow money, not give it away.

This really sent me into a bad bank situation - it caused overdrafts on my account. I really needed a cash advance for my daughter's medical bills. I had no where else to turn. They had no business advertising for payday loans and that was not what they were peddling. You filled out an application for the cash advance and were left with giving them permission to take money out of your account, which you did not have in the first place. I called the bank right away and they found EDP as the company that raided my account, but EDP told the bank I authorized the withdrawal and I could not get m money back. Tscribe, Fairfax, Virginia
