Another secret shopper scam, but by a different name - But The Phone Is In Quebec - (phone) Montracal, Quebec Canada

This is a new scam to me, but apparently it's been around a while. The letter I got was almost verbatum to reports previously on file here on this site.

The check was also for $4,995.00. It's "drawn" from Bank of America Customer Connection, Bank of America, N.A. Atlanta Dekab County, Georgia.

Routing number: 061112788, account number: 329-975-1919

Usually the last digits of the account number written on checks is the check number. Not so in this case: Check number is 04193423

Surprisingly, the address on the check matches the address on the letter.

The materials look good. This is a slick scam. The check looks real, down to the security features on the check.

This would seem to constitute mail fraud. Time to send this report to the USPS.

There are already too many crooks in the world. Time for each of us to make there be one less.
