They made a tempting promise

CONGRATULATIONS, you have been selected to participate in a paid Consumer Research Program in your area of residence as a Mystery Shopper...

This is how this company started to lure me in along with a check for $4995.00. I took the check to two different banks and let them look at it. They both said the check looked authentic right down to the water marks.

The first thing that raised a red flag was the Bank of America Customer Connection address, ATLANTA DEKAB COUNTY, GEORGIA. It should have been DEKALB COUNTY. I always get suspicious when a supposed professional business puts out something mispelled on something so important.

I was to cash the check and: keep $300 for probation training pay transfer $4400 to 'Mary and your last name' (call for clarification)
Money Gram Service charg $150
Funds needed for shopping $105 (keep whatever I bought)

After my banks looked at the check and told me how good it looked, I let them read the letter. They assured me it was a scam and if I cashed the check the money would most likely be drawn on an empty account and then they would come back to me for their $4995.

These guys are slick! They even included the following statement at the end of their letter..."Note that your credibility has been verified before your appointment... Our CREDITORS will take a legal action against you. Kinda sounds like they may have been worried about someone trying to scam them.
