Stole $873.00 from me with an unauthorized checkcard withdrawal from my account

On 7/21/08 I went to do grocery shopping my checkcard was declined due to Direct TV taking a withdrawal of $873.00 from my checking account. Of course I was livid.
I called Direct TV to see why they would do that without my authorization and being that the account was not even in my name but my husband's.

They claim since I used my checkcard on that account they have a legal right to use it to take out money with it since it was owed.

I was told that if I let them keep the charges owed for previous service which was a total of $198.00 they would refund the amount of $675.00 back to my checkcard within 3-4 business days. 3-4 business days came and went.

I called again on 7/25/08 and then was told that the original claim for a refund was never filed and that I would have to wait for another 7 days though she would file them that day.

The next day 7/26/08 I was again told by a different customer service agent that there was no claim for a refund made and that she would make the claim but it will not be a guarantee that there will be any refund to my check card but that I may just have to accept the refund of $675.00 in credit with Direct TV. Also not to call back for another 14 business days

The explaination of the previous day did not sound right so i called again on 7/27/08 and was told by a very rude customer service agent that I will have to wait for 7 days at least from the date 7/25/08 and when I asked why so long of a wait since they can snatch my money so fast for the refund? The heifer said because they have 17 million customers to worry about not just me and that when they get ready to give me a refund they will call me.

This company is sick out of their mind. They try to give people a hard time thinking they will give up but I am not going to. I have been in touch with the BBB and if that doesnt resolve this issue I will take it as far as it needs to go.
