I am being ripped off

I have been a customer of TXU for over 20 years but I have now had enough. I lived in 1,900 sqft home for 12yrs. My A/C unit is electric while my heat is gas. My TXU bill is typically around $120 during the winter and peaks at about $380 during the heat of the summer. My kilowatt usage is around 800 kilowatts during the winter and peaks at about 2,500 during the summer. Imagine my surprised when I get a bill for July for $847.24 using 4097 kilowatts. I nearly had a heart attack when I saw this bill. Surely something has to be wrong so I call customer service and speak with a customer service rep. Her first reasoning for it being high is because it's been hot. WTF! I explain to her that I am aware that it has been hot but we are not in purgatory. I tell her to take a look at my 12 month average and tell me she does not see something wrong. She says you owe the $847.24 and you need to pay it or your service will be disconnected. She refused to listen to common sense and I ask for a supervisor. I was told I would get a call back but never had. I call back and request they send some out to re-read my meter and recalibrate it. They send one out and I am told the reading is correct. My thermostat stays at 78% during the summer and it has been this way for the entire 12 years I have been living in my house. I am clueless as to what could be going on and TXU has no interest in helping me. They simply want the money and thats it. I have no idea how I will be paying this bill since it is nearly the amount of my mortgage payment. TXU is sticking it to me and it appears I have zero options. Something here is just not right and I will be sending a detailed letter to the public utilities commission of Texas and just pray this thing gets resolved before I lose power.
