Miscellaneous

I received a letter from Como Law Firm PA a few months ago regarding a bill I had but didn't receive a bill from the business until a few weeks before Como's letter came. The letter asked me if I was aware of the bill and asked me to sign it and send it back in the provided envelope. I did so with the thoughts of 'what harm can it do to admit I had an outstanding bill with this company.'. I have not received any phone calls from them but I have been getting calls from unknowns and private callers with no phone number showing so I don't answer them.

My bill is a few years overdue and I assumed that they were not sending me any bills since the circumstances behind it were of such that I could sue for malpractice. The dentist I went to pulled a tooth that was very badly infected. I thought he was going to pull a different one and send me home with anitbiotics to take care of the infected tooth like my previous dentists have done. He didn't though; he pulled the infected tooth and, needless to say, it hurt a lot! I read on the internet later (and also spoke to people who knew that was wrong for him to do), that pulling an infected tooth could lead to the infection going into the bloodstream and causing death.

A few weeks ago, my bank sent me a notice stating $122. (and some odd cents) was being reserved in my checking account for garnishment (that was the amount of the bill). Today, I received a mis-spelled simulated court document and a photocopy of another document. The photocopied document says: "Our recent garnishment has captured funds of yours. This money is not available to you.

For this garnishment to end, sign the enclosed release of moneys to Como Law Firm, P.A. Your signed release frees the funds to be transferred to us, and it saves you additional costs.

If you choose not to sign and return this release within five business days, we may take additional legal actions (enter Judgment by default, obtain a Writ of Execution, filing fees, etc). You would then be liable for at least $465.00, which money is then added to your next garnishment.

Please promptly sign the release and mail it back to us in the enclosed return envelope. If you do not, we may legally proceed, without further notice.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation."
Then it is signed illegibally with three names listed.
The reasons I know that the court document is simulated is:

-I have had documents from my county before and they do not mis-spell words on their own letterhead.

-County documents are not signed by Como Law Firms PA

If I understand "garnishment" it means that they withold the amount owed and give it to the person/s owed. Now why are they wanting my signature to take it if it is being held already? And I think I may want to sue the dentist, so if anyone can help, please feel free.
