Telemarketing fraud

They originally called for my 65 year old husband. They asked if we had broken drill bits from Harbor Freight purchase in 2001 - said I didn't remember (thought it might be a product recall) Offered to send out new set for free, so I agreed. Then said since I had been such a loyal Harbor Freight Customer that they would send free grinder or chop saw -all I had to do was buy wheels or blades. Price quoted was $2.99 total. I repeated this number and it was verified twice. Offered to send COD, or did I want to use creditcard.

Without thinking - yes I should know better - I gave CC# to him. The minute I hung up I realized I called Harbor Freight customer service - who knew nothing about this "special offer" and told me it was fradulent. Called AMEX and cancelled card. Began reading about other customer experiences where people were charged excessively. Within 3 days we received at least 20-30 calls wanting cc info because supposedly package had been shipped. Finally blocked the calls.

I am on Do Not Call lists everywhere and should have never been contacted by these fraudulent telemarketers who were misrepresenting themselves to be a company I had dealt with. Telemarketers are also not supposed to call from blocked numbers, which it was.

I have been called names, threatened with credit card fraud, theft of merchandise, collections, liens, etc. These are people who prey on elderly hard working folks. They have been reported to the FTC, Harbor Freight Corporate Offices, and the Texas Attorney General. Am open to other suggestions to get this operation shut down!
