National Medical Strategies - Pharmabay
Tried to get me to confirm my bank info to cancel a $389 package Internet

Miscellaneous

A lady with a foreign accent called me recently and said that another rep from her company called earlier, and that I ordered some package and in order to not be charged I needed to verify my bank info to get a code to call a number she was going to give me after I verified my info.

Well I told her I never talked to anyone rep from her company, known as National Medical Strategies. She gave me a website for Pharmabay.net. There is a 1-866 number listed on that website but I didn't call it. I told her that she needs to tell me what info she has on me like the name of my bank. Well she said that she could not tell me that and I needed to verify that info to insure it was my info. I asked to speak to her manager/supervisor. She put me on hold and said the manager/supervisor was coming.

Well it sounded like the same lady had returned to the phone posing as the manager/supervisor. I relayed my same concerns and said I wasn't going to give out my info over the phone and never have. She eventually hung up on me as the call got heated. I don't have caller id so I couldn't trace the number. I guess I can call my phone company and ask they what number came in on the day I got the call. I didn't think of dialing the call return number to get that number.

Since I didn't verify my info with this lady, I hope I'm safe in not getting charged $389 for something I never ordered. If someone has also done what I did, please let me know if you were ever charged anything on your checking account or credit card.
