National Medical Strategies
National medical strategies — also tried to get me to give them bank info for package that was never ordered

Health & Medicine

My incident is much like the first report that was submitted on 11/10/07 at this site. I got the same phone call from a lady with a foreign accent, stating that I had spoken with a Michael Scott in September from National Medical Strategies, and ordered a package. I did not order anything. I would not verify any account information either. I asked to speak with her supervisor to verify when I had received the call from Mr. Scott, and who he was. At that point, she hung up on me.

So, I looked on my caller ID and called back the number that was on there: 940-234-6697. A recording came on saying that this was not a working number. How does that happen? I then called my phone company to see if the call could be traced. They could not, but they tried to call the number also and came up with the same recording. Both the woman at my phone company and I went to different websites and did a "reverse look-up" using that phone number — we both came up with the same company going to the number: NTS Communications in Wichita, TX — I called them and they did say that they had sold that particular number in a bulk package to another carrier, and would not give me any other information, stating that it is against the law to give that out.

I then went online and "Googled" National Medical Strategies. The name did come up, and gave this website. I read the first report against this company here. Once I had read the report, I took the info I got from that report, got a phone number, and called. The only number that was given belonged to a Pharmabay.com — They said that they are not affiliated with the National Medical Strategies company either, although they are familiar with the package that is being sent out to people. The woman I spoke with there said that people should not get charged UNLESS they give out their information. And, if a person does give out their information, they will receive the package in the mail — in the package is a customer service number that can be called and the money that was charged will be refunded.

I hope that this information, although a bit long, helps others. It was pretty upsetting to think that a company had my banking info, and I was unable to verify why they were in that position... With no working number to call back.in fact, it has taken up my whole afternoon.
