Completed job failed in 4 weeks Ripoff

After reading the reports on David Avalos, I feel somewhat "lucky." He ripped me off for only $1,500. He did decorative concrete work around the outside of my swimming pool and spa as the copings were old and cracked. I must say it looked great. However, after 4 weeks the concrete began to have some cracks in it.

I called Mr. Avalos and he actually came to inspect the situation. He even found an area where the concrete was "bubbling." He told me he would contact the manufaturer and call me. Weeks went by with Mr. Avalos very obiously dodging my calls.

Meanwhile, at this point about 1/2 of the concrete was peeling off similar to walking on potato chips. I filed a report with the Attorney General and Mr. Avalos called. He did give me the number of a rep of the product's manufacturer. A rep actually inspected the problem which now had basically completely cracked (this is 6 weeks after installation).

The rep said that Mr. Avalos's company did not appy the product correctly but, he would take a sample of a large piece that cracked off and have his lab sample it. He also said that he would send me a statement attesting to the fact tha the job was poorly done.

Weeks went by and I would call and email the rep with no response. After finally making contact with the rep, he informed me that Mr. Avalos was not interested in repairing the problem. I got the impression that the rep felt threatened by Mr. Avalos. I then contacted the rep's supervisor and he assured me that the rep would contact me to provide written confirmation that the Avalos job was substandard. I was never contacted.

After reading usacomplaints.com, I contacted Avalos's probation office: Anthony W. Strappel at 210 335-7414. I don't know what my next sep is, may to file a police report for "theft of service." DONOT GET INVOLVED WITH THIS MAN!
