Collectors calling from both California and Nevada Fountain Valley

My accounts have been closed at two (2) banks because of continued automatic collection practices by Cashcall. I made an attempt to send them the monthly payment so my account would not be debited. They made no attempt to stop the account from being debited.

I recently spoke with a collector calling from Las Vegas, Nevada. He read all my contact notes and attempted to set up a payment plan with me. Because I allow them to call me on my work telephone up to 10 times during the work day (8 - 5) he wanted a promissory note from me to pay by the 15th of every month. He asked for an email. He offered to stop the phone calls as long as I kept the agreement. I sent him the email he requested.

Five (5) days later California collectors are calling my old home telephone and harrassing whomever answers. When I called them to find out what they were doing, they told me I was a skip/trace. They didn't want to explain how I became a skip, but they did offer to clean it up and stop the calls from going to the old number. All I wanted to know was why California and Nevada are not working together on their collection practices. They both can read the notes.

Well, the obvious answer is the laws are different in Nevada than they are in California. It would appear California is not going to allow Nevada to set me up with a workable plan. California told me Nevada (the collector) could not set up that plan with me. So I need to reread my contract.

Unless you are prepared to repay a loan with this company within days, they have got to be one of the worst consumer nightmares that exists. And if we don't collectively push for some legislative changes to stop this interest free-for-all, retirement for most of us will not happen.
