Renter's Beware!
Not only did my landlords receive my rent each month and on time - they collected back rent owed to my previous landlord. I lived there for 3 yrs and 11 months versus the 7 months with the previous landlord.
One of my current landlords had also become a partner with my previous l.L. Just prior to the unit being transferred to him and his new partner.
When I moved out - after paying them well over $22,500 - leaving them with a clean, ready to rent apartment... They got away without returning my measly security deposit.
I did try suing but the judge ruled in their favor even though he specifically stated the items they claimed were "normal wear and tear".
I do not wish this upon any good renter - so this is your warning to make sure you have anything and everything in writing as well as a record of transfer of your deposit should your rental be sold or transfered in any way.
