Cleaned apt and moved out in Aug 07 and still trying to get my security deposit back

I moved into a larger apartment on the same property and am still trying to get my security deposit back from the first apartment I had at Counjtryview West. T&R's corporate offices tried to say I did not pay my July 07 rent to them prior to moving during the first week of Aug 07. I produced a cancelled check from my bank and my bank statement proving that I did indeed pay my July rent. The management at Countryview/Bayside agreed with documentation and submitted to corporate offices at T&R Properties. They turned in over to collections. Collections agrees that cannot collect on the debt! And yet T&R Properties refuses to refund my deposit. I am taking legal action against T&R Properties but caution anyone against renting from them. They are slum landlords at best. If you move in you will have to deal with volatile neighbors, random people walking through the parking lot, parts being stolen from your car, broken windshields, trash everywhere, and non-existant maintenance. It's just not worth it.
