Unauthorized Payment from checking account ripoff

Quite honestly, I just realized that they have been ripping me off since August and it is now January. My husband and I don't even know how they got our account information. We don't even remember the type of phone call that other people have reported to have.

As I started catching up on reconciling my statements against my bank book, I noticed a series of withdrawals with unidentifiable check numbers. I requested for a copy of 2 of them. The "so-called" preauthorized checks was written to Mega Movie Club and another to Health Network USA with their 800 numbers attached to it. I tried calling but the numbers did not work. Then I "googled" these companies and came across this website and read the reports against this company.

I am not only angry at the company but also my BANK. How is a bank going to take the word of a company without written verification from the account holder. Anyone can get ahold of a routing number and account number. It's on the bottom of your check. You could have lost a check book. A well known company who has your account information can have dishonest employee gathering account information from various customers. The list goes on. Because it is late right now, I can't get a hold of a representative from my bank so I am on edge right now hoping no other checks are going to clear.

If there are so many reports on these companies, why aren't all the banks informed of these SCAM companies thus giving them a red flag when receiving "so-called" preauthorized payments?
