Flim Flam Artist! He gave me a check on a closed account Ripoff

This guy is a classic flim flam artist, I only wish I had found Rip off Report along time ago, as this happened in 02. I sell construction supplies & equipment for the concrete industry.

This guy came to my store on a Wednesday to get material for a side job he was doing, and asked if he could pay me on Thursday. I knew whom he worked for so I said OK. Thursday comes and he calls me and says he can't make it, but he will be there on Friday. He shows up late on Friday and wants to give me a check; he claims he missed the bank. Because he missed the bank he asked me if I could give him $20.00 cash and he would make the check out for $20.00 more. Me, mister nice guy thinking hey, he seams honest, after all I know his boss and he did call me and tell me he couldn't make it on Thursday, so I say OK. I give him $20.00, he writes me a check for $154.33.

So now Monday comes, Fred calls me and says he didn't need everything he picked up and asked if he can return one of the products. I say sure and he comes by with the more expensive of the two items and I give him $125.74 in cash. The next day his check bounces back to me, not NSF but ACCOUNT CLOSED and I'm out $280.07. Phones calls got nowhere, when I called his boss, I found out he had been fired for some other slick deal.

This guy works in the decorative concrete field, look out for him!
