Ripoff awful deposit policy

I deposited my payroll check in my checking account. This was on a Thursday afternoon, 3:30. My payroll check is also drawn on a wachovia account. I work for the local government. When I checked my account on Friday Morning they said my funds would not be available until Friday @ midnight.

I asked them that if I had deposited my check on Friday morning when would the funds be available they said Friday morning, so then I asked why a check that I deposited on a Thursday afternoon drawn on a Wachovia account is not availabe until Saturday. This bank is a rip off.
