Ripoff Misleading television ad, fraudulent credit card charges, extremely poor customer service and New York New York

I could tell you all about my horrible experience in trying to order the Singer Lazer Vacuum but I would only be repeating the many others who have already written. Suffice it to say I called, thought I was ordering 2 vacs (buy one, get one free) and was surprised a few days later to see twice the amount deducted from my bank account.

After numerous attempts to contact the company I finally came to the conclusion that I would return the vacs at my own expense and hope that they would return my money. I called Fed Ex and found out that it would only cost me about $14 to return all 4 vacs. I will include confirmation of receipt. Kinda makes you wonder about that $18.50 per vacuum ($72) that IGIA charges, huh.

Then, on a whim, I decided to call my bank and see I could get a reversal of charges. They listened to my whole story and decided that my money should be returned to me so they are going to do a provisional reversal. This means that they will return my money immediately and investigate the company. If they find in my favor, I keep my money. If they find in favor of the company they will return the money to the company.

It is important to note that in this reversal, I will receive the $72 shipping charged to my account. I will only be out the $14 or $15 it cost me to return the vacs.

If you are wondering why I want all of my money back, I took out one of the vacs and tried it and it was horrible. Nothing like what was advertised on TV.

Just a note - many other people have reported an advertised special of a "free" steam cleaner. That is only good if you are making a single payment rather than three and shipping is $20 and attachments are an additional $20 for a total of $40 for the "free" steam cleaner.

My advice - If you are thinking about ordering this product, run as fast as you can in the other direction. If you have already ordered this product and have the same experience as the many other people who have written in, call your bank immediately and get the charges reversed. I was very blessed to get a person who acted quickly on my behalf. Be persistant and don't take no for an answer.
