My experience is almost identical to all the ones I've read here today. I was given the spiel about a $12,500 grant and that he only needed me to confirm some information. He confirmed my name and address, asked if I had a checking account, ever filed bankruptcy and if I filed my taxes on time.
I was very suspicious very early and must have asked too many questions for "Mr. Steve Smith's" liking because he never did get around to asking for any checking account information.
He said someone would call me back after 5pm. I am waiting to see if I hear from anyone. I kicked myself for giving as much info as I did and began doing research to see exactly what kind of trouble, if any, I was in. I ran across this web-site and was amazed that they were actually getting away with this.
People please, pass this along to anyone who will listen!
Something to think аbout: all of these reports say that the operator had a heavy foreign accent. Please just be careful about who you give your money to and what all this scammed money is being used for. Terrorist attacks are not cheap!
