Miscellaneous

I received a call from (202) 666-7272 from a man with a very heavy accent informing me that was calling from the US government and that I have been selected to receive a one-time, no obligation grant in the amount of $8,400 for which I would not have to repay or pay taxes. This is not the first time he has called me with this same information. During the first call two weeks ago, when I began questioning him about the company and reason for the grant, the line disconnected. Then today when I questioned how I had been selected, the name of the company he was calling from, or any other questions, he became hostile and began yelling the answers at me. He advised me that I had been selected because I pay my taxes on time and had not filed bankruptcy in the past six months and that only 1500 people across the nation would be receiving this money. He further informed me that this was to be used for educational or medical purposes, to renovate my home or to purchase a vehicle. He then asked for either my bank account or credit card information to transfer the money to me today. When advised I do not have any cards, he began pushing me for my bank account information then the line disconnected. When I googled the company name (Federal Government Grant Dept) I was provided with information that this is a scam. Be careful!!!
