Today's Date: 26 MAY

A few weeks ago I got a phone call from an Arabic-sounding male offering a secured credit card.

They had my information (ie. Telephone number and home address) before they called. Recently my fiancee and I had placed that information on various websites for short term loans. We think they may have got our information from there.

When the man called he said he could give me a mastercard with a $2000 limit. There was no annual or monthly fees. There would be 0% APR for the first year. He said I had up to 10 days to authorize a wire transfer from my bank account to their organization to initiate the request. He assured me that in the mean time I could expect literature on the credit card in the mail (to include the pin numbers).

Approximately one week from the day I spoke with him they wired $249 from my fiancees checking account (as we had arranged).

It has been 9 days since I wired the money to them and I have not received any literature.

Further, I have tried to contact them at the phone number they provided and it always seemed to be busy. Today I made it a point to call them consistantly between the hours of operation that they advertised on their voicemail. They said they were open from 9-5pm eastern standard time. The phone number provided was: 866-847-9287 (ext. 1000 - which, for the record, is never an option).

The calls above were all made today (26th of May) to the phone number they gave me. At the times where I was able to leave a message (the last 2 times) I warned them that I was suspicious of a scam and I would be reporting them to my bank and authorities if they did not return my calls or provide me with further information.

I am waiting for my bank to mail me a piece of paper containing every little detail about the "organization" that recieved the money we sent them. Once I have that, I will provide that information here (if possible) as an update.

If anyone has questions about my experience with this and think they may be able to help me - or would like more info from me please do not hesitate to email me: cryptowizard @ speakeasy.net. I simply ask that you remain to the point and make clear what you'd like from me.
