Car Stolen Then Reported As Charged Off, Ruining Credit History

The car will be stolen two years in September. It was my son's car. Stolen from Rhode Island. Police reports were made. Afterwards, I made several call between Kia and my insurance agency, USAA. I made arrangement with both companies. I thought I was handling everything. I waited for the insurance company to settle the claim. Of course it didn't paid everything. There was a balance of $6300.

I made arrangements with Kia to continue payments. Later when I went to get a loan for a washer I was turned down and found out that Kia had put on my credit report a charged off account of the stolen car. I have seen three lawyer since then none of which are interested in helping me.

I continue to pay Kia's lawyers. Meanwhile I can't even get a $300 loan. It isn't fair that I was the victim and I am getting punished. Kia states that I miss a payment during the time that the insurance was settling. I do not dispute that I have to pay for the car; I just want it off my credit report so that I can live my life.
