Luther Taylor - Ripped off $20,000 for buying building materials and labor. Has not yet paid for lumber! May have cheated subcontractor also. Ripoff

Hired Luther Taylor Taylor's Construction to build addition. He lied about being licensed contractor. Wanted $10,000 on day he started. Wanted two checks each for $5,000 written to him, not the business. Subcontractors came to do footer and foundation and left for two weeks.

Came back and over next couple of weeks and lay floor and built walls and then left again. Luther hasn't done enough work on house to get any money yet but trusting me gives it too him. Sub comes back and put up trusses one morning then left for good. Luther had ripped the subcontractor off so they are not coming back and man have they left us with a mess. Addition was left uncovered for 7 weeks and floors are badly damaged. Found out Luther was going to attach our metal roofing directly to trusses like a barn!

We see lawyer and he writes letter to Luther requesting receipts and reimbursment of funds not spent on our project. Luther did not respond to lawyer. We think about sueing him but we would just have to get into line with all the other people he has ripped off. Have to get family and friends to help up do rest of work on house; framing roof, laying plywood on roof, wraping house with housewrap, staightening walls and we can't pay them any labor says the bank. Found out recently Luther has not even paid for the lumber yet.

I have called him several times and left messages on his answering machine telling him that I need some money and I've heard nothing from him.
