Former Dealer Says Comfort Specialist Program Lacks Support

Ingersoll Rand bought Trane in early 2000, and ever since, customer service and dealer partnership have sucked. They have a program for supposed top notch dealers called Trane Comfort Specialist. My family business was part of this from 2000 until 2013. Trane could not care less about the training requirements and cares only about the 12,000 a year they get from each dealer for this status. Some dealers are not even members of the BBB.

Home Depot and Lowe's dealers can be some of the worst. They have been recruited by Trane as brand new dealers in most situations, depending on Trane warehouse leads for their survival. When we started asking questions we were told, "If you don't like it, hit the road!"

So that is exactly what I did after 40 years as a Trane advocate. We are now Bryant dealers, and they stand with their dealers and customers. That is all we want.
